Manchester United and Leeds share goalless Stockholm opener
Strawberry Arena hosts a 0–0 pre-season friendly.
Manchester United and Leeds United drew 0–0 at Strawberry Arena on 19 July 2025 as both clubs began their pre-season match schedules. A crowd of 45,345 watched the rivals meet in Stockholm.
Leeds gave starting appearances to new arrivals Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha. Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff and Sebastiaan Bornauw entered after the interval as both teams made substantial changes.
The match produced opportunities despite the absence of goals. Noussair Mazraoui cleared an early deflected delivery near the United goal, while Karl Darlow denied Chido Obi at the other end. Casemiro’s deflected cross also struck the woodwork before half-time.
United substitute goalkeeper Tom Heaton made several important saves after the break, including stops from Jayden Bogle and Largie Ramazani. Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier responded with a save from Patrick Dorgu.
Kobbie Mainoo struck the crossbar in the closing stages, but neither side found a winner. The friendly provided early match minutes and a first opportunity to assess new players ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
