Switzerland defeat Sweden 2–0 in Solna World Cup qualifier

Sweden lost 2–0 to Switzerland at Strawberry Arena on 10 October 2025 in European qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match was Sweden’s first home fixture of the qualifying campaign, with a sold-out crowd expected at the national arena in Solna.

Switzerland arrived with a strong start behind them. Victories over Kosovo and Slovenia had given the visitors six points from their first two matches, with seven goals scored and none conceded. Sweden, meanwhile, had opened with a draw in Slovenia before losing away to Kosovo.

The result in Solna added another setback to Sweden’s campaign and maintained Switzerland’s winning start. The Swedish Football Association’s official highlights record the final score as 0–2, while the Swiss federation confirms the date, venue and World Cup qualifying status of the fixture.
